with the An-Nafud Al Kabir Desert (the Great Nafud Desert) at the north of the country.

ESCARPMENT WAS FORMED BY THE UPLIFT OF THE ARABIAN SIDE OF THE RED SEA
BY AN UPWELLING OF HOT MATERIAL FROM BENEATH THE EARTH'S CRUST AS THE RED SEA OPENED AND SPLIT ARABIA FROM AFRICA.
